Chelsea and Strasbourg owners BlueCo are reportedly putting the finishing touches to a deal to sign a 17-year-old African starlet.

Chelsea and Strasbourg owners BlueCo are reportedly on the brink of signing African starlet Yaya Dieme.

Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital have made a habit of acquiring players with the intention of using some of them at both clubs.

Djordje Petrovic, Diego Moreira, Caleb Wiley, Andrey Santos and Angelo Gabriel have all been signed by Chelsea in the past before going on to represent Strasbourg.

There has also been talk of Strasbourg defender Mamadou Sarr making the switch to Stamford Bridge at some point having impressed in Ligue 1.

However, as per Taggat, another deal is in the offing involving the two clubs.

Who is Yaya Dieme?

The report suggests that BlueCo are pushing to agree a deal to sign Dieme from Diambars Football Club.

Dieme is allegedly already undergoing a one-month internship at Chelsea and will spend a similar period at Strasbourg.

With the player just 17 years of age, he is expected to sign for the French club in January 2026 on what is said to be a four-and-a-half-year contract.

Five caps have been earned for Senegal's Under-17 side with Dieme seemingly capable of playing in every position across the forward line.

Where will Dieme spend development?

Given his lack of experience, it appears likely that the prospect will initially spend time in the Strasbourg youth ranks before being considered for first-team selection.

With the report suggesting that he will spend time between both clubs, a similar period in Chelsea's Under-18s or Under-21s cannot be ruled out.
