Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte is handed a misconduct charge by the Football Association after being sent to the stands in the Premier League game with Swansea City.

The Football Association has charged Antonio Conte after the Chelsea head coach was sent to the stands during the Premier League fixture with Swansea City.

During the first half of the game at Stamford Bridge, Conte became frustrated on the touchline after thinking that Swansea were wasting time before the break.

The Italian was involved in a heated discussion with the referee and fourth official before being ordered to spend the rest of the game away from the dugouts.

Conte has apologised for his actions on Wednesday night, but that has not stopped the FA from charging the 48-year-old with misconduct.

A deadline of 6pm on Tuesday, December 5 has been given for Conte to decide whether to accept the charge or launch an appeal.

Chelsea went on to win the game by a 1-0 scoreline thanks to a second-half header from Antonio Rudiger.
