Live Commentary: Wycombe Wanderers 0-5 Chelsea - as it happened

Sports Mole brings you live coverage of the pre-season friendly between Chelsea and Wycombe Wanderers.

Chelsea sealed an emphatic 5-0 win over Wycombe Wanderers in their first pre-season match at Adams Park.

The fixture served as a testimonal for Wycombe midfielder Matt Bloomfield, who has been with the League Two side for 10 years.

Patrick Bamford found the target in the first half for the visitors, before Izzy Brown added a second-half brace, while veterans John Terry and Branislav Ivanovic were also among the goals.

Read how all the action unfolded below:

7.17pmGood evening! It's just under half an hour until the Matt Bloodmfield testimonial match gets underway at Adams Park. Both teams have already named their squads for the match, so let's take a look at the lineups...

7.18pmWYCOMBE STARTING XI: Ingram, Lewis, Doherty, Pierre, Jacobson, Scowen, Wood, Bloomfield, Hayes, Cowan-Hall, Craig

7.19pmCHELSEA STARTING XI: Schwarzer, Ake, Christiansen, Bamford, Baker, Kane, Romeu, Van Ginkel, Swift, Piazon, Chalobah

7.20pmWYCOMBE SUBSTITUTES: Lynch, Murphy, Fletcher, McClure, Ainsworth, Evans, Morias, Jombati, Kretzschmar, Driver, Horlock

7.21pmCHELSEA SUBSTITUTES: Beeney, Ivanovic, Zouma, De Silva, Boga, Houghton, Solanke, Brown, Matic, Terry

7.24pmUnderstandably, Bloomfield is among those named in the starting lineup for the hosts, who have gone with an experienced lineup. Meanwhile, the visitors are giving some of their youngsters a run out in the first half, but there's plenty of experience on the bench in the shape of John Terry, Branislav Ivanovic and Nemanja Matic.

7.28pmMembers of both clubs have been paying tribute to Bloomfield ahead of kickoff. Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho said: "Congratulations to Matt Bloomfield on your testimonial. It is a special achievement to play 10 years in one club and you should be very, very proud. I am pleased to bring my Chelsea team here to celebrate and I look forward to an entertaining match."

Meanwhile, Wycombe manager Gareth Ainsworth, who has named himself among the substitutes this evening, said: "He's dependable, trustworthy, honest and committed so I wish him all the best at the start of his tenth season at Wycombe Wanderers. Well done Blooms."

7.31pmThe crowd is starting to build at Adams Park with kickoff just under 15 minutes away and both sets of players have been out warming up for tonight's match. Chelsea shared this image of Mark Schwarzer getting his eye in on their Twitter feed:

7.34pmWycombe have already been in action following their summer break. The League Two side defeated Cheshunt of the Isthmian League 3-2 on Saturday.

7.37pmWe're just hearing that kickoff has been delayed by a few minutes. No reason has been given for the delay, but hopefully it won't push proceedings back by too much.

7.41pmChelsea have just headed back into the dressing room after completing their warmups. The Premier League side will be wearing their new away kit this evening:

7.45pmPREDICTION! Before the match gets underway, it's time to make a prediction. The added incentive of the testimonial will bridge some of the gap between League Two and the Premier League, but Chelsea have a starting lineup full of players who will be desperate to impress the manager, with plenty on their bench. I think Chelsea will just have enough for the win this evening, so I'm going for 2-1 to the visitors.

7.48pmThe players are making their way back out onto the pitch ready for kickoff!

7.49pmTo mark the occasion, Bloomfield is wearing the captain's armband this evening, although he's not normally the skipper.

1 minKICKOFF! Chelsea get the match underway.

2 minChelsea are on the attack early as Nathan Ake and Marco van Ginkel find a way through midfield before putting in a through ball for Patrick Bamford, but the striker is crowded out on the edge of the box, allowing Wycombe to clear the threat.

4 minThe visitors continue to see the majority of the ball as Bamford crosses in towards Todd Kane, but he hesitates as the ball comes in, allowing Matt Ingram to come off his line and collect.

6 minWycombe finally manage to get the ball and look to put their opponents under pressure, but Van Ginkel wins the ball back for Chelsea and picks out Swift with a superb ball forward, but Pierre just does enough to squeeze out the Chelsea man.

9 minWycombe are slowing starting to see more of the ball, but Chelsea defend well and push the hosts back to the edge of their own box, before Ingram boots it forward. Paris Cowan-Hall makes a decent run down the right flank, but Nathan Ake does enough to stop him getting the cross in.

12 minAke comes under pressure at the back again, this time from Paul Hayes who manages to muscle his way past the young defender and wins a corner, but Oriol Romeu makes the clearance for the visitors.

14 minAfter a bright spell from the hosts, Chelsea are looking lively again as Todd Kane crosses the ball in from the sideline looking for Swift, but Gary Doherty beats him to the ball and heads it clear for Wycombe. Both sides have shown plenty of attacking intent so far, but neither keeper have really had much to do yet.

17 minChelsea are patiently holding possession in midfield, and win a free kick when Bloomfield charges into Swift. Van Ginkel is dictating the play in the middle, but has to but the ball out when Todd Kane goes down with an injury.

19 minIt looks like a groin problem for the youngster, who just seemed to pull up while running with the ball. Kurt Zouma is warming up, but it looks like Kane is desperate to continue.

21 minGOAL! Wycombe 0-1 Chelsea (Patrick Bamford)

21 minFrom nothing, Chelsea have the lead as Kane comes back onto the pitch and finds Nathan Ake on the left wing. The defender times his cross to perfection to set up Patrick Bamford for a powerful shot from close range.

23 minSUB! Having briefly come back on to test his groin, Todd Kane has now been forced off, with Kurt Zouma taking his place.

25 minChelsea are looking for a second as Lewis Baker crosses in towards Swift, but Stuart Lewis just gets his foot to it to turn in behind for a corner.

28 minIt's been all Chelsea since the visitors took the lead as Piazon lines up a shot from the edge of the box, but he rushes his shot a little and it bobbles harmlessly wide of the post.

31 minMark Schwarzer has to make his first save of the night as Sam Wood launches the ball towards the Chelsea goal, but his 25-yard effort lacked power and was comfortably taken by the Chelsea goalkeeper. Given Wycombe's lack of opportunity in the last 15 minutes or so, that was more a shot out of frustration than a real chance for the hosts.

34 minWycombe continue to try their look from range, but their efforts aren't enough to trouble Schwarzer. Meanwhile, Van Ginkel puts Ingram under pressure at the other end, but the Wycombe stopper just manages to gather in time.

37 minChelsea's fans are making themselves heard as the substitutes start to warm up, presumably in preparation for mass changes at half time.

40 minCHANCE! Wycombe are starting to get forward again as they try to put Chelsea under pressure before the end of the first half, and they manage to win a corner. Schwarzer comes off his line to punch it clear, but he gets it wrong, allowing Aaron Pierre to have a shot, but Bamford is back on the line to keep it out.

43 minAke gets forward again as he tries to set up another Chelsea goal, this time looking for Swift, but Doherty is making the Chelsea man closely to prevent him getting the shot away.

44 minAke quickly has to get back in defence as Cowan-Hall is on the move again, eventually getting the cross in for Lewis, but the defender's header is well wide.

45 minAke wins a corner when Lewis slides in to but the ball behind. It was a pretty full-blooded challenge for a testimonial but the referee lets it go. Swift tries to turn in the box to add a second for Chelsea, but the hosts have numbers back to get it clear.

45+1 minHALF TIME: Wycombe Wanderers 0-1 Chelsea

8.40pmSo Patrick Bamford's strike separates the two sides at the break. The striker was also involved at the other end, making a crucial stop on the line shortly before the break.

8.44pmChelsea are expected to make wholesale changes ahead of the second half, but their youngsters have shown plenty of promise in the opening 45 minutes. Nathan Ake proved a threat at the back as well as on the wing, while Bamford and Swift caused problems in the box for Wycombe.

8.49pmAs the players came out for the first half, Matt Bloomfield was welcomed by a guard of honour for his testimonial. He's been pretty quiet so far this evening, so will probably be keen to make an impact after the break.

8.51pmCHELSEA TEAM FOR SECOND HALF: Schwarzer, Ivanovic, Zouma, De Silva, Terry, Boga, Salah, Brown, Matic, Romeu, Solanke

46 minKICKOFF! Wycombe get the second half underway.

46 minSo it's almost a completely new side for Chelsea, with Schwarzer and Romeu continuing from the first half, while Zouma, who replaced Kane early on, also continues.

48 minGOAL! Wycombe Wanderers 0-2 Chelsea (Izzy Brown)

48 minWhat a fantastic start to the second half for Chelsea, as 17-year-old striker Izzy Brown taps in from close range from a Jay de Silva cross, scoring just over two minutes into his senior debut for the club.

50 minCHANCE! The visitors almost have a third as Jeremie Boga carves himself some space on the edge of the box, and Ingram has to put it behind for a corner.

52 minGOAL! Wycombe Wanderers 0-3 Chelsea (John Terry)

52 minThe Chelsea captain has his first touch since coming on at half time as he sidefoots the ball into the back of the net from the corner for the visitors' third of the evening.

55 minStewart Lewis wins the ball in midfield and makes a good run down the right flank, but his cross in towards Hayes lacks direction, and is easily cleared by Zouma.

58 min

59 minSUBS! Wycombe make a souble change, bringing on Peter Murphy and Matt McClure for Josh Scowen an Steven Craig.

61 minCHANCE! Chelsea are close to adding a fourth as Branislav Ivanovic gets forward, but Ingram makes a solid save to keep the defender's header out of the back of the net.

64 minSUBS! More changes for the home side as Sam Wood, Stuart Lewis and Paris Cowan-Hall make way for Max Kretzchmar, Junior Morias and Callum Driver, who is on trial at the side.

65 minCHANCE! Ivanovic has another chance, but this time the Wycombe defender's do enough to scupper his chances, forcing him to slice the ball over.

67 minGOAL! Wycombe Wanderers 0-4 Chelsea (Branislav Ivanovic)

67 minChelsea win a free kick on the edge of the box, which Boga curls in where there are numerous players lined up looking for the goal, but Ivanovic beats them all to it to finally get his goal with a powerful header past Ingram.

70 minChelsea continue to dominate the possession, and with 20 minutes still to play, you wouldn't bet against them extending their lead the way things have gone in this second half. Wycombe defended well in the opening 45 minutes to restrict their Premier League opponents to just a single goal, but the addition of the likes of Terry, Ivanovic and Matic at half time has proved a bit too much for the League Two outfit.

73 minSUBS! Chelsea make their final two changes of the night, replacing Oriol Romeu with Jordan Houghton, while Mitchell Beeney comes on between the posts for Mark Schwarzer. Schwarzer and Romeu were the only two players still on for Chlsea that had started the match.

75 minSUBS! There's a big cheer from the home crowd as manager Gareth Ainsworth brings himself on for the final 15 minutes, replacing Paul Hayes. Tommy Fletcher is also on, taking over from Gary Doherty.

76 minCHANCE! Mohamed Salah has been fairly quiet since coming on at half time, but he forces a save from the Wycombe keeper as he weaves through the defender, but Ingram comfortably takes it.

78 minSolanke and Morias battle for the ball on the edge of the Wycombe area, but the home defender draws a foul to ease the pressure.

79 minSUB! It's the end of the night for Matt Bloomfield, who will watch the final 10 minutes or so of his testimonial from the bench, with Nathan Evans replacing him for the final few minutes.

82 minDespite their lead, Chelsea are continuing to push, and are through on goal as Iggy Brown slides the ball forward for Solanke, but his chipped shot finishes just high of the crossbar.

85 minCHANCE! Wycombe win a throw in near the half way line, and Morias launches it deep into Chelsea's half, but the visitors manage to quickly win it back. Solanke manages to break from midfield looking for a fifth, but Ingram just gets his fingertips to it.

87 minGOAL! Wycombe Wanderers 0-5 Chelsea (Izzy Brown)

87 minIt's a second goal on his senior debut for Izzy Brown, and it's a stunning finish from the 17-year-old as he curls the ball beautifully into the top corner from 20 yards out. What an impressive 45 minutes it's been for Brown!

90 minChelsea are parked in Wycombe's half as full time nears, but they seem to be just keeping the ball now. However, Boga breaks, but gets caught in two minds, unsure whether to pass to Solanke or take the shot on himself, giving the hosts time to get the ball clear.

90+1 minFULL TIME: Wycombe Wanderers 0-5 Chelsea

9.40pmAfter a close first half, Chelsea seal an emphatic 5-0 win over League Two's Wycombe Wanderers, with a superb brace for teenager Izzy Brown, with veterans John Terry and Branislav Ivanovic also adding to Patrick Bamford's first-half strike.

9.42pmJose Mourinho will have some of the team's World Cup stars back for their next pre-season encounter, but some of the younger players will have done enough to keep themselves in contention for another outing at the weekend.

9.43pmWell that's all from Adams Park this evening, but stick around to read reports from this match and the other pre-season fixtures taking place this evening, and join us again over the coming days for continued coverage of the pre-season. Thanks for joining me this evening, goodbye.
