Dirk Kuyt hopes Liverpool will be able to repeat their Stamford Bridge heroics of nine days ago when the two sides meet in the Carling Cup on Tuesday.

Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt has said that the Reds are confident they can record a second victory in nine days over Chelsea when they travel to Stamford Bridge in the Carling Cup tomorrow.

Former Blues man Glen Johnson won the game for the Merseyside club in the 87th minute when the sides met in the Premier League last Sunday and Dutchman Kuyt is hoping for a repeat performance.

"It would be a great achievement for this team to get another good result at Stamford Bridge," he said.

"Every game is different. We have lots of confidence from our win there and from the year before. We will go there to try and beat them again - hopefully we can do that."

The 31-year-old is unconcerned by the two-day gap the Anfield club face after securing a draw against league leaders Manchester City yesterday.

"Normally in football you get a couple of days to recover and to prepare for a game - especially a big game like the quarter-final of the Carling Cup against Chelsea," he added.

"It's tough to play again in 48 hours but it is like it is and we're looking forward to the game and want to win."

Kuyt's only goal of this this year's campaign came in the Carling Cup in the 2-1 win at Brighton.
