Chelsea team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Norwich City

Sports Mole rounds up Chelsea's injury and suspension news ahead of Tuesday's Premier League clash with Norwich City.

Chelsea will be looking to bounce back from Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Sheffield United when they welcome already-relegated Norwich City to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.

The Blues are still third in the Premier League table but would drop out of the top four if Leicester City and Manchester United both win their games in hand.

There is no question that head coach Frank Lampard will be looking for a response against the Canaries, whose relegation to the Championship was confirmed when they lost 4-0 against West Ham United on Saturday.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Chelsea's injury and suspension news ahead of Tuesday's clash.


N'Golo Kante

Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: July 14 (vs. Norwich City)

Lampard revealed earlier this month that Kante was suffering from "a low-level hamstring injury". The Frenchman missed out against Sheffield United on Saturday but could be in line to return for this match.


Billy Gilmour

Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Gilmour is expected to be on the sidelines for the next four months, having been forced to undergo a knee operation on Friday. The midfielder picked up the problem during Chelsea's win over Crystal Palace on July 7, and he will now not be available for the Blues until next season.


Fikayo Tomori

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: July 14 (vs. Norwich City)

Lampard revealed that Tomori suffered "a small setback in training" when discussing his muscular problem earlier this month. The centre-back has not been involved since the league resumed last month, but he could come into contention for the clash with the already-relegated Canaries.
