Diego Costa hoping to open Spain account

Chelsea forward Diego Costa wants to open his account for Spain in the upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers against Slovakia and Luxembourg.

Chelsea forward Diego Costa is hopeful of opening his goal-scoring account for Spain in the upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers against Slovakia and Luxembourg.

The Brazilian-born striker struggled to produce his best form for La Roja at this summer's World Cup, but has started this season in fine form for Chelsea, netting nine goals in nine appearances.

Costa also spoke of his relationship with club teammate Cesc Fabregas, who joins him as part of the latest Spain squad.

"I haven't scored here yet, but I've not had many chances either. I just need to work hard to get my first goal, which is exciting for me. When I have the chances, I'll be there," Inside Spanish Football quotes Costa as telling reporters.

"It's going really well for us at Chelsea, but we've got to look for it here too. [Fabregas is] a great talent, we know each other really well and hopefully we can get some goals together here."

Costa was born in Brazil, but chose to represent Spain towards the end of last year.
