PSG's Thiago Silva: 'Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho showed lack of respect'

Paris Saint-Germain captain Thiago Silva accuses Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho of 'disrespecting' the French club.

Paris Saint-Germain captain Thiago Silva has accused Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho of showing a lack of "respect" towards the French club.

The Brazilian, who scored the crucial goal that put PSG through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League at the expense of Chelsea, has drawn on comments made by Mourinho prior to the tie.

The Portuguese coach said that he was pleased to draw PSG in the last 16 due to the travel distance, but Silva believes that he was referring to last season's meeting when Chelsea knocked the French side out of the elite competition.

"It was not revenge, but they didn't respect us, especially Mourinho," Silva told reporters.

"After the draw, he said he preferred to play against PSG because Paris was near London and it was easier for supporters to come. But I don't think that was the reason. Mourinho said that because of his win against us last year."

Chelsea led twice in the second leg at Stamford Bridge, but after 30 minutes of extra time, PSG sealed a 3-3 draw on aggregate to put the Ligue 1 team through on away goals.
