Hugo Almeida close to Cesena switch

Hugo Almeida is reportedly on the verge of joining Serie A outfit Cesena.

The 30-year-old has been without a club since he was released by Turkish side Besiktas at the end of last season.

However, after numerous negotiations, the Portuguese striker has reached an agreement with the Seahorses, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Almeida has played for numerous clubs during his career, including Porto, Boavista and Werder Bremen.
