Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers heaps praise on his squad's "winning mentality" after their 3-0 success at Aberdeen on Wednesday night.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has revealed that his first-team squad have been avoiding taking days off in order to continue their unbeaten domestic run.

On Wednesday night, Celtic ran out 3-0 winners away at Aberdeen to extend their record without defeat in domestic competitions to 61 games - one fixture short of their own British record.

Rodgers has suggested that he has been keen to give his squad some time off at various stages of the run, but his instructions were met by his players wanting to put in extra work.

The 44-year-old is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying: "It's an incredible credit to the players and staff for the mentality to work like that. We come back in the early hours from games and they want to work the next day.

"I give them a free day but they come in. It tells you about the winning mentality and how hard they're working."

Celtic are next in action when they host Kilmarnock on Saturday afternoon.
