Rodgers hails "outstanding" Celtic display

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has praised his players for an "outstanding team performance" in their 1-1 draw at Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League.

The Bhoys trailed to a first-half Lars Stindl strike and looked to be heading for a repeat of last month's defeat in the reverse fixture.

However Moussa Dembele's penalty, after Julian Korb was shown a red card, earned the visitors a point.

Speaking after Tuesday's Group C fixture in Germany, Rodgers told BBC Sport: "I thought we should have won the game.

"I thought we were the best team, but I am really proud of the players tonight. I said we needed to play with personality and the personality we showed was outstanding.

"We were brave on the ball, had speed on the counter-attack and we had chances. An outstanding team performance."

Celtic sit bottom of Group C on two points, five adrift of Manchester City in second, with two games left to play.
