Alcacer and Parejo demolish Celta Vigo as Valencia score five

Valencia record a five-goal victory over Celta Vigo as Paco Alcacer and Daniel Parejo both score braces in a comprehensive away win.

Valencia have put five goals past Celta Vigo, including braces from both Paco Alcacer and Daniel Parejo, to record a comprehensive away victory.

Alcacer opened the scoring after 13 minutes, firing home from Parejo's cross.

Augusto Fernandez levelled the scoreline in the 24th minute, converting a header after Daniel Wass supplied him with the ball from Pablo Hernandez's knockdown.

Valencia captain Parejo got his first of the match immediately before the half-time whistle, rifling a free kick past the helpless Sergio Alvarez.

Alcacer recorded his brace straight away in the second half as he capitalised on an error from Jonny to increase the lead for Nuno Espirito Santo's side.

The Spain striker then turned provider, helping Parejo to score his second which put the game beyond Eduardo Barizzo's team with 64 minutes played.

Parejo also provided an assist, sending in a 79th-minute cross which Germany defender Shkodran Mustafi headed beyond Alvarez for Valencia's fifth.

Santo's side move up to sixth in La Liga with the win, while Celta remain in third.
