Cardiff City, Aston Villa play out goalless draw

Cardiff City and Aston Villa share a goalless draw in their Premier League clash at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Cardiff City and Aston Villa have played out a goalless draw in their Premier League clash at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Frazier Campbell had the first opening of the match for the hosts when he was played in by Wilfried Zaha and saw his close-range effort pushed onto the post by Brad Guzan.

They came close again moments later, as Craig Noone saw his long-range effort deflect onto the crossbar.

The home side continued to dominate and Kenwyne Jones headed an effort wide after connecting with Jordan Mutch's cross.

After the break Campbell came close for Cardiff when he burst into the box and drilled a shot wide of the far post, before Leandro Bacuna fired an effort off target for Villa.

Soon after Jones had another headed attempt for the hosts, but directed his effort straight at the keeper.
