David Flitcroft has been nominated for the League One Manager of the Month after leading Bury to a perfect record in September.
The Shakers won all five matches, including three away trips to Gillingham, Sheffield United and Peterborough United, and currently lie third in the table.
Flitcroft's men are three points behind leaders Burton Albion, whose boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink took the Brewers to the top of the third tier for the first time in the club's 65-year history.
The other two nominees are both in charge of Essex outfits.
Tony Humes's Colchester United soared up the table with 13 points out of a possible 15, scoring 12 goals in the process, while Southend United also won four out of five under Phil Brown.
The winner will be announced on Friday morning.
