Bristol City sign Nottingham Forest's Simon Gillett on loan

Bristol City have completed the signing of Nottingham Forest midfielder Simon Gillett on a three-month loan deal.

The 27-year-old links up with City head coach Sean O'Driscoll for a third time, having played under him at Forest and Doncaster Rovers.

Gillett will remain with the League One club until January 28.

"Although we have numbers in that area of the pitch, we lack a bit of experience," O'Driscoll told BBC Radio Bristol.

"He became available and I've worked with him a few times. It was too good an opportunity to miss."

Gillett has made two appearances for Forest this season.
