Scottish League One roundup: Leaders Greenock Morton slip up

Sports Mole rounds up all of Saturday's action from Scottish League One as leaders Greenock Morton lose but stay top due to Stranraer's postponement.

Scottish League One leaders Greenock Morton fell to their first defeat in nine games as goals from James Dale and Gavin Malin gave Forfor Athletic a 2-0 win at Cappielow.

However, Morton stay top as second-placed Stranraer saw their clash with Stirling Albion postponed after the Forthbank Stadium turf failed a pitch inspection.

Brechin City could only manage a goalless draw with Airdrionians leaving them fourth behind Forfar and Stranraer.

Dunfermline Atheltic closed the gap with a 2-1 win over Ayr United thanks to Nicky Devlin's own goal and a second-half strike from Andrew Geggan, but it remains a four-horse race at the top of the table.

Elsewhere, Colin McMenamin's 13th goal of the season and a further effort from Josh Watt saw Stenhousemuir climb away from trouble with a 2-1 win over Peterhead.

Results in full: Brechin City 0-0 Airdrieonians, Dunfermline Athletic 2-1 Ayr United, Greenock Morton 0-2 Forfar Athletic, Stenhousemuir 2-1 Peterhead, Stirling Albion P-P Stranraer.
