Bournemouth transfer news: Cherries in 'advanced talks' to sign Juventus goalkeeper

Bournemouth in 'advanced talks' to sign Juventus goalkeeper

Bournemouth are reportedly in advanced negotiations with Juventus over the loan signing of Michele Di Gregorio.

The Italian shot-stopper has claimed 36 shutouts in 84 competitive appearances since joining Juventus from Monza in 2024.

Di Gregorio recorded 14 of those clean sheets in 30 Serie A matches last term, but he is set to fall down the pecking order, with Juventus set to sign Guglielmo Vicario from Tottenham Hotspur.

Juventus are set to offload Di Gregorio and Mattia Perin before they sign a backup for Vicario as part of an overhaul of their goalkeeping options.

Bournemouth pursuing Di Gregorio deal

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Bournemouth could offer Di Gregorio the chance to play his club football outside of Italy for the first time in his career.

The south coast side are said to be in advanced talks with Juventus over a season-long loan deal for the 29-year-old goalkeeper.

The proposed deal would include an option for Bournemouth to make the move permanent, although the buy clause would not be mandatory.

The Cherries are not the only club that have been credited with an interest in Di Gregorio, with Football Italia claiming that Marseille, Torino, Lazio, Monza, Valencia and Besiktas have all been linked with a possible move.

Why are Bournemouth keen to sign a new goalkeeper?

Bournemouth saw Christos Mandas return to Lazio at the end of his loan spell at the end of the 2025-26 season.

Cherries have since sent Alex Paulsen on loan to Motherwell, leaving Djordje Petrovic, Fraser Forster and Will Dennis as Marco Rose's three goalkeeping options.

Dennis would most likely head out on loan if Bournemouth are successful in their pursuit of Di Gregorio.

The Italian would then compete with Petrovic for the number one spot, with Forster operating as the third-choice goalkeeper.
