Bordeaux brush aside Lyon

Bordeaux breeze past Lyon to register a 3-1 victory at the Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux.

Bordeaux registered their third win of the season with a 3-1 victory over Lyon this evening.

Wahbi Khazri handed the hosts a 16th-minute lead with a right-footed shot from inside the area after collecting Diego Rolan's through ball.

Khazari then turned provider to tee up Jaroslav Plasil midway through the first half, with the midfielder sending a powerful header beyond the reach of Anthony Lopes.

Pablo made it 3-0 before the break by drilling Khazari's free kick into the back of the net from 12 yards.

Claudio Beauvue headed home Rachid Ghezzal's cross with little more than 10 minutes remaining to get Lyon on the scoresheet, but it proved to be too little too late as they fell three points behind the Champions League places.
