First Fabrice Muamba picture released after collapse

The first image of Bolton Wanderers midfielder Fabrice Muamba following the 23-year-old's cardiac arrest has emerged.

The former England international has released the photo of himself from within the London Chest Hospital via his fiancee Shauna's Twitter account.

The photo was accompanied by a message from Shauna, which read: "Fab wanted me to post this pic for you all and to also say thank you for such overwhelming support."

Muamba remains in intensive care following his collapse a fortnight ago, but the playmaker has made significant progress in his return to health.
