Martin Olsson admits that he wanted to leave Blackburn Rovers this summer.

Defender Martin Olsson has confirmed that Blackburn Rovers denied him a move away from the club during the summer.

Olsson had handed in a transfer request at Ewood Park, but the Swedish international has revealed that the outfit rejected several offers from other clubs.

The 24-year-old told Sportbladet: "I wanted to leave, I want to continue to play in the Premier League. There were offers, but the club rejected them.

"Even if we had managed to stay in the Premier League, I would have liked to try something new"

Olsson has scored three goals in 38 appearances for Blackburn.
