Christopher Samba denies Arsenal transfer pleas

Blackburn Rovers defender Christopher Samba has hit back at claims that he pleaded with the club to let him join Arsenal.

Previous reports suggested that the Congolese player was forcing a move to the Emirates in order to satisfy his Champions League desire. However, the 27-year-old has denied such claims and branded talking about other clubs as “disrespectful”.

Samba wrote on his Twitter page: "The declarations about me are totally false - never said that, I'm a Rovers player and will never mention other clubs - it's disrespectful. Not happy right now."

The defender has also been linked to a move to Gunners rivals Tottenham this summer.
