Belgium defeat USA 4-2 at the FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio.

Belgium have triumphed 4-2 against the USA in their friendly match at the FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio.

Jurgen Klinsmann and Marc Wilmots both took the opportunity to make substitutions, with Thorgan Hazard - Eden's younger brother - making his international bow.

The visitors started well and took the lead in the ninth minute. Kevin Mirallas kept his cool to beat Everton teammate Tim Howard after Romelu Lukaku had first been denied.

That lead lasted until the 23rd minute, when Geoff Cameron equalised against the run of play. The Stoke City defender got on the end of Clint Dempsey's header back across goal to knock in unmarked at the back post.

The teams went into the break on level terms, but Wilmots's men came out a different team after the break.

A mistake by Omar Gonzalez allowed Kevin de Bruyne to cross for Christian Benteke to re-establish Belgium's lead in the 56th minute, before Marouane Fellaini put them further ahead 10 minutes later.

Benteke netted his second goal of the game in the 73rd minute with a deft finish over his Aston Villa teammate Brad Guzan.

With 10 minutes to go, the United States were awarded a penalty when Toby Alderweireld was adjudged to have handled inside the area, although replays showed that the decision may have been harsh.

It was Dempsey who stepped up to make it 4-2, meaning that the night's five goalscorers came from Premier League clubs.

There was to be no further consolation for the hosts, who now face three World Cup qualifiers in the CONCACAF region.
