Japan edge past Belgium in Brussels

Belgium fail to bounce back from their defeat to Colombia last week by slumping to a further loss, going to 3-2 to Japan in Brussels.

Belgium have slumped to back-to-back defeats for the first time since 2010 following the 3-2 loss to Japan in Brussels tonight.

Marc Wilmots's men, who lost 0-2 to Colombia on Friday, took a 15th-minute lead through Everton winger Kevin Mirallas.

It would not be enough to secure a half-time lead, though, as Yoichiro Kakitani levelled matters eight minutes from the interval, before Keisuke Honda - who scored in the 2-2 draw with the Netherlands last week - gave Blue Samurai the lead shortly after the break.

Shinji Okazaki established a two-goal margin between the teams midway through the second half, before Toby Alderweireld halved the deficit with 10 minutes remaining.

However, it would prove little more than a consolation as the Belgians fell to their second straight defeat - their worst run of form in three years.
