Rummenigge rules out Mandzukic exit

Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has insisted that the club have no plans to sell striker Mario Mandzukic.

The forward has been linked with a move to Premier League leaders Arsenal recently, with rumours suggesting that manager Arsene Wenger is keen to bolster his attacking options.

However, Rummenigge has quashed speculation about Mandzukic's future, despite the announcement that the Bundesliga champions will be signing Robert Lewandowski from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

"We're very pleased with Mario," Rummenigge told the club's official website. "He made a significant contribution to us winning so many trophies last year.

"He's a magnificent player who has come on superbly at Bayern. He has a contract with us until 30 June 2016, and I told his agent that we're certainly prepared to consider extending his contract well before it expires.

"We have absolutely no intention of letting Mario go."

Mandzukic joined Bayern from Wolfsburg in 2012.
