Rummenigge: 'Bayern in no hurry to sign James'

Bayern Munich chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has reiterated that the club have no plans to sign James Rodriguez on a permanent deal from Real Madrid this summer.

The Colombia international has looked at home in Bavaria since Jupp Heynckes took over from Carlo Ancelotti six months ago, playing a direct part in 14 Bundesliga goals.

Contrary to reports in the Spanish press, Rummenigge revealed last month that Bayern will likely wait until the end of next season - when James's loan deal expires - before deciding whether to hand over around £40m to take him on a full-time basis.

Asked by reporters for an update over the weekend, the Bayern chief said: "There are clear conditions regarding his contract and we are not in a hurry.

"He has developed excellently, especially since Jupp Heynckes took over. It was a very good transfer and I have to congratulate Carlo Ancelotti again for that."

James scored one and set up two in the 6-0 win over Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, leaving his side one win away from another title.
