Barnsley sign Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Joe Wildsmith on loan

Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Joe Wildsmith has joined League One outfit Barnsley on a one-month loan deal.

The 19-year-old could make his debut for the Tykes against table-toppers Bristol City on Saturday.

Manager Lee Johnson told BBC Sport: "Adam Davies has got a slight abductor tear and we can't risk it getting worse.

"Joe has a really good reputation and this is a good chance for him."

Wildsmith, who signed his first professional contract with the Owls in November 2013, is an England Under-20 international.
