Burnley defender Kevin Long extends loan spell at Barnsley

Burnley defender Kevin Long extends his loan spell at Barnsley until February 19.

Burnley defender Kevin Long has extended his loan spell at Barnsley until February 19.

The 25-year-old initially moved to the League One outfit on a short-term deal, but has now opted to trigger the emergency option of a further 93 days.

Long has been part of the team that has recorded six victories on the bounce, and has scored two goals in the process.

The defender joined Burnley from Cork City in 2010, but has struggled for game time with the Clarets.
