Lee Johnson confirms rejected Marc Roberts bid

Lee Johnson pays tribute to the Barnsley board after they reject an offer for Marc Roberts on transfer deadline day.

Barnsley manager Lee Johnson has revealed that the club turned down a deadline-day offer for Marc Roberts.

Speaking after his side's 2-0 Johnstone's Paint Trophy victory away to Scunthorpe United, Johnson paid tribute to the Tykes board for keeping his squad together.

He is quoted by the club's official Twitter feed as saying: "We want to keep our best players. Credit to our club. That is massive today as well as who we have brought in."

Barnsley are currently 12th in League One after losing 3-0 at Rochdale on Saturday.
