Result: Barnsley 2-0 Burnley

Strikes from Jacob Butterfield and Ricardo Vaz Te are enough for Barnsley to defeat Burnley.

Goals from Jacob Butterfield and Ricardo Vaz Te were enough to give Barnsley a second consecutive home win this evening.

The home side claimed the first goal of the game in the 21st minute. Butterfield was the scorer, converting Craig Davies's pass into the bottom left-hand corner of the net from inside the penalty area.

In response, Eddie Howe's Burnley forced home goalkeeper Luke Steele into action before the break, but he managed to deny Jay Rodriguez's effort.

Portuguese substitute Vaz Te secured the victory late in the game when he gathered former Claret Andy Gray's pass to slot home.

Neither side created any more goalscoring chances of note after the break as Barnsley moved above their opponents in the Championship table.
