Barnsley have suffered an injury blow ahead of the new season after it was revealed that new signing Mido will be out for three months.
The Egyptian striker injured his hamstring before his club's friendly against Doncaster Rovers, and manager Keith Hill has admitted that news of the injury is a massive blow to the club.
Hill told the Sheffield Star: "It's a massive blow, but there was nothing we could do to prevent it.
"Mido pulled his hamstring shooting in the warm-up against Doncaster and the scan revealed it is a bad injury."
The 29-year-old forward is no stranger to English football, having previously played for Tottenham Hotspur, Middlesbrough, Wigan Athletic and West Ham United.
