Barnsley appoint Hutchings as assistant

Barnsley have announced the appointment of Chris Hutchings as their new assistant manager.

The former Wigan Athletic manager joins the Tykes following the dismissal of Micky Mellon as Danny Wilson's right-hand man last week.

Wilson said of Hutchings on the club's official website: "His experience will be invaluable as we go into the final 10 games of the season and I am delighted that he has come to help us out."

Barnsley are bottom of the Championship, three points adrift of safety.
