Saturday's League One predictions including Blackpool vs. Peterborough

Barnsley vs. Fleetwood (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Aiming to keep their automatic-promotion bid on track, Barnsley will welcome early-season strugglers Fleetwood Town to Oakwell on Saturday afternoon in League One.

The Tykes are on a mission to improve their home record after a comfortable success over Shrewsbury Town in the week, while on the same night the Cod Army, earned a dramatic winner at basement dwellers Reading.

We say: Barnsley 2-1 Fleetwood Town

Barnsley eased past Shrewsbury to keep pace with the top two in League One in midweek, and the Reds will be targeting a relegation-threatened Fleetwood side as a good opportunity for another three points.

The Cod Army were impressive at Reading on Tuesday and will be full of confidence heading to Yorkshire, but we believe the likes of Cole and potentially Styles will be too hot to handle for the visitors.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Blackpool vs. Peterborough (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Locked in a battle for promotion back to the Championship, recently-relegated Blackpool will host an in-form Peterborough United side at Bloomfield Road on Saturday afternoon in League One.

The Seasiders are beginning to find their stride in the third tier but had to hold on for a maximum against Cheltenham Town on Tuesday, while Posh were narrow winners at Port Vale on the same day.

We say: Blackpool 1-1 Peterborough United

Blackpool looked unconvincing in the second period against a Cheltenham attack who have managed just four goals this term, and the visit of Peterborough on Saturday will be a much sterner test.

Posh were uninspiring despite ultimately winning the game at Port Vale last time out, but Ferguson's men should be good enough for a point at Bloomfield Road on the weekend.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Bristol Rovers vs. Northampton (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Following the sacking of manager Joey Barton on Thursday, Bristol Rovers will begin a new era under temporary stewardship as they welcome Northampton Town to the Memorial Stadium on Saturday in League One.

The Gas are currently three matches without a win after being forced to share the spoils with Stevenage on Tuesday, whilst Northampton earned a point against Leyton Orient on the same night.

We say: Bristol Rovers 2-1 Northampton Town

Bristol Rovers have fallen below their owners' expectations so far this term, but with interim boss Mangan at the helm, the Gas have a good chance of returning to winning ways this weekend.

Northampton are continuing to rely on Hoskins to get them out of jail, and we believe that the Cobblers will suffer their third defeat in four games on Saturday.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Burton Albion vs. Leyton Orient (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Burton Albion welcome Leyton Orient to Pirelli Stadium in the 16th gameweek of League One action on Saturday.

The home side lost their four-game winning run on Tuesday, while their London-based visitors continued their undefeated streak at Northampton Town.

We say: Burton Albion 2-1 Leyton Orient

Saturday's game could end in a draw, but Burton's recent wont to outscore their opponents at the Pirelli could give the hosts the edge against Leyton Orient.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Cambridge vs. Carlisle (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Cambridge United seek an end to their winless run in League One when they welcome Carlisle United to Abbey Stadium in round 16 of the competition on Saturday.

Both clubs are flirting with a possible relegation battle, and Cambridge could be leapfrogged by their fifth-bottom opponents if beaten this weekend.

We say: Cambridge United 1-1 Carlisle United

A draw could be on the cards in Cambridge, as the hosts have not pulled up trees in recent home games, while Carlisle have claimed one victory in their last five away fixtures.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Charlton vs. Bolton (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Having seen their seven-game unbeaten run come to an end last time out, Charlton Athletic aim to get back on track when Bolton Wanderers visit The Valley on Saturday in League One.

The Addicks fell to a 3-1 defeat to Lincoln City in their midweek affair, while the Trotters continued their promotion push by overcoming Wycombe Wanderers 4-2.

We say: Charlton Athletic 2-2 Bolton Wanderers

Charlton manager Appleton ought to get the response he is after from his side this weekend, as the Addicks never have any trouble converting their chances at The Valley, as evidenced by their unrivalled home scoring record in the third tier.

However, an equally ruthless Bolton side know a thing or two about overcoming adversity on the road, and a showdown that should certainly live up to the billing could end with the two managers accepting a point apiece after an end-to-end battle.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Exeter vs. Lincoln (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Exeter City will be aiming to end a run of six straight defeats in all competitions when they resume their League One campaign at home to Lincoln City on Saturday afternoon.

The Grecians are currently down in 18th position in the League One table, having picked up 16 points from their first 14 matches, while Lincoln are ninth, collecting 21 points from their opening 13 games.

We say: Exeter City 1-1 Lincoln City

Exeter are a lot better than they have shown of late, and we are backing their run of defeats to come to an end this weekend. Lincoln will be seeking a third straight win under their interim head coach, but Exeter should be good enough to claim a share of the spoils on Saturday afternoon.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Oxford Utd vs. Wycombe (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Oxford United will be looking to keep in touch with League One leaders Portsmouth when they do battle with Wycombe Wanderers in a derby clash at the Kassam Stadium on Saturday.

The two teams are seeking to bounce back from two-goal defeats in midweek, with the U's losing at Wigan Athletic on the same day the Chairboys came away empty handed against Bolton Wanderers.

We say: Oxford United 2-1 Wycombe Wanderers

Considering both team have regularly shown a threat in front of goal so far this season, an end-to-end contest could be in store this weekend.

Although Wycombe have got the better of Oxford in recent meetings, we believe the hosts will return to winning ways this time around to keep the pressure on Portsmouth at the top.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Port Vale vs. Cheltenham (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Cheltenham Town will attempt to claim their first away win of the season when they travel to Vale Park for Saturday's League One meeting with Port Vale.

The Valiants, meanwhile, are desperate to end their poor run of form after failing to win any of their last seven league matches.

We say: Port Vale 1-1 Cheltenham Town

While Cheltenham have shown signs of encouragement in recent weeks, they are still yet to pick up an away victory this season.

However, we still think they will do enough to collect a point, with their hosts currently winless in seven league games.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Reading vs. Portsmouth (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Reading will attempt to end a six-game winless league run when they welcome Portsmouth to the Select Car Leasing Stadium on Saturday.

While the hosts are languishing in the relegation zone, Pompey are currently leading the way at the top of the League One table.

We say: Reading 1-3 Portsmouth

The two sides enter Saturday's contest in contrasting veins of form, and we think that a confident Portsmouth side will prove too strong for the hosts, who have suffered four consecutive defeats.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Stevenage vs. Derby (Saturday, 3.00pm)

After beating Exeter City in midweek, Derby County will have the chance to claim a second straight victory when they face Stevenage on Saturday.

The hosts ahead into the weekend in seventh position, with a two-point gap to their opponents, who have two games in hand.

We say: Stevenage 1-1 Derby County

Having lost just one home league game this season, Stevenage are a tough team to beat at the Lamex Stadium, and will think they will produce a battling display to hold Derby to a draw in Saturday's encounter.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Wigan vs. Shrewsbury (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Wigan Athletic will have the chance to claim a third consecutive victory when they welcome Shrewsbury Town in Saturday's League One contest.

The visitors, meanwhile, will be looking for a positive response after suffering a 3-0 defeat to Bolton Wanderers in midweek.

We say: Wigan Athletic 2-1 Shrewsbury Town

Wigan would have taken confidence from their last two results, and with Shrewsbury struggling on the road, we think the Latics will add three more points to their tally on Saturday.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.
