Ayr United striker Michael Moffat has been served with a notice of complaint by the Scottish Football Association over allegations of betting on matches involving his own team.
The 29-year-old is accused of placing bets on seven fixtures which Ayr played between August 2012 and August 2013.
He is also alleged to have bet on an additional 150 games involving other sides between February 2012 and September 2013.
However, the SFA have insisted that there is no evidence of Moffat fixing or influencing matches.
Moffat has until December 24 to respond to the charges, while a hearing date has been set for January 16.
