Half-Time Report: Rangers frustrated by Ayr United

Rangers are left frustrated after a goalless first half against Ayr United in the Scottish League One.

Rangers have been frustrated by Ayr United in the first 45 minutes as the two teams go into the half-time break of their Scottish League One clash with the score level at 0-0.

Ayr almost took the lead in the third minute, but Cammy Bell did well to tip Kevin Kyle's close-range effort round the post.

Ross Wallace was Rangers' main source of creative play, and the left midfielder teed up Dean Shiels and Fraser Aird in quick succession, but both attempts fell straight into the hands of David Hutton.

Bell once again kept Rangers in the game with a point-blank save from Michael Donald's effort, but the visitors almost took the lead themselves from the subsequent counter-attack, only for Aird to smash his effort against the bar before Nicky Law spooned the rebound over from just six yards.
