Australia boss Ange Postecoglou eyes World Cup impact

Australia boss Ange Postecoglou eyes further glory following his side's triumph in the Asian Cup.

Australia manager Ange Postecoglou has declared that he is determined to make an impact at the next World Cup, after clinching the Asian Cup with a 2-1 victory against South Korea in the final.

James Troisi scored the goal that secured the trophy for the Socceroos, and their coach is hoping that the achievement will be a springboard to bigger prizes.

"[Winning] this tournament here is a great achievement," he told reporters. "But this is not where the journey ends for us, this is just the beginning.

"We have to push from here... We want to go to the next World Cup and make an impact.

"It's all about leaving watermarks along the way and we left a pretty high mark now."

Australia's Asian Cup triumph marks the first time the country has won the trophy.
