Diego Simeone confident of Antoine Griezmann arrival

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has suggested that the club is close to signing Real Sociedad attacker Antoine Griezmann.

The France international has been linked with a host of teams across Europe this summer, including Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Monaco, but La Liga champions Atletico are now understood to be on the verge of landing the 23-year-old.

"He's a brilliant player," Simeone is quoted as saying by Goal.com. "He is very quick and can give us a lot of options in attack.

"However, it's also true that a lot of other players have been talked about as possibly coming (to Atletico), and we could make two teams out of all of them."

Griezmann scored 16 goals in 41 games last season.
