Quickest goals

Yesterday afternoon, Aston Villa's summer signing Libor Kozak made an instant impression by scoring against Norwich City within 90 seconds of appearing from the bench.

However, there are a host of players that have made much quicker goalscoring interventions than the Czech Republic international.

Below, Sports Mole has picked out five of the most memorable strikes.

Roy Makaay - Bayern Munich vs. Real Madrid, 2007

Dutch striker Roy Makaay claimed the fastest goal in Champions League history during the knockout tie in Germany.

Nicklas Bendtner - Arsenal vs. Tottenham Hotspur, 2007

The Arsenal frontman had been on the pitch just six seconds when he converted Cesc Fabregas's corner.

Alan Shearer - Newcastle United vs. Manchester City, 2003

One to forget for Carlo Nash as his clearance is charged down by Shearer, who scores in just under 11 seconds.

Hakan Sukur - South Korea vs. Turkey, 2002

It took the Turkish centre-forward just 11 seconds to find the back of the net against co-hosts South Korea at the 2002 World Cup.

Fred - America/MG vs. Unknown

An audacious effort from this Brazilian youth clash is rewarded as the goalkeeper is beaten from the halfway line in under four seconds.
