Report: AC Milan monitoring Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke

Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke has emerged as a summer transfer target for AC Milan, according to reports.

The 24-year-old Belgium international has struggled for consistency this season amid injuries, but marked his return to form with a hat-trick against Queens Park Rangers in Tuesday's 3-3 draw at Villa Park.

According to The Mirror, the Rossoneri have made enquiries as to whether they could lure Benteke to San Siro in the summer.

Benteke joined Villa from Belgian side Genk in 2012.
