West Bromwich Albion head coach Pepe Mel has admitted that he is interested in signing striker Joel Campbell "for the future".
Reports emerged this week claiming that the Baggies could swoop for the 21-year-old, who is currently on loan at Olympiacos from Arsenal.
Mel, whose future at The Hawthorns remains uncertain, coached the Costa Rican during the pair's time together at Real Betis last season.
"Joel Campbell was a player with me at Betis, a very good player and it is possible for the future at West Brom," Mel told reporters. "He could play here if I stay here."
West Brom are currently four points above the relegation zone in the Premier League table.
