Marco Asensio is reportedly close to signing a new contract with Real Madrid, with his current deal up at the end of the season.
Asensio has spent eight years on the books at Real, and has featured regularly as a squad player for much of his time with the club.
The Spanish international had looked out of favour with manager Carlo Ancelotti, but he has become an important part of the squad again since the World Cup, scoring five goals in his last nine games.
The Daily Mail reports that with many clubs circling Asensio in the hope of snapping him up on a free transfer, the 27-year-old is now expected to sign an extension with the club.
A new deal which will last four or five years has been touted, and personal terms are not expected to scupper the deal in any way.
Arsenal and Newcastle United had been linked with Asensio, as well as Real's bitter rivals Barcelona, but the report claims a new deal in Madrid is now inevitable.
