Arsenal to offer Jack Wilshere new deal after Manchester City interest?

Arsenal will reportedly offer Jack Wilshere a new contract to fend off interest from Manchester City.

Arsenal are reportedly lining up a new contract for Jack Wilshere in an attempt to fend off interest from Manchester City.

The England international has been out of action with an ankle injury since November, but played 90 minutes for the Under-21s side earlier this week.

City have been linked with a move for Wilshere of late, but manager Arsene Wenger wants to keep the midfielder, according to The Telegraph.

Despite Wilshere's persistent injury problems, Wenger has no intention of doing business with City, according to the report, and will open negotiations on a new deal worth around £150,000 a week.

Wilshere could return to the Arsenal squad that travels to Burnley this weekend.
