Team News: Lee Cattermole given start against Arsenal

Lee Cattermole returns to captain Sunderland against Arsenal on Saturday afternoon.

Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill has recalled club captain Lee Cattermole to the starting lineup for the visit of Arsenal.

The midfielder replaces Sebastian Larsson for the hosts, while Danny Rose is also given a recall at the expense of David Vaughan.

Arsene Wenger has also made two changes to his side, with Santi Cazorla an Aaron Ramsey coming in for Abou Diaby and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Thomas Vermaelen remains on the sidelines for Arsenal as he continues to struggle with an ankle injury.

Sunderland: Mignolet, Gardner, Rose, Bramble, O'Shea, Cattermole, N'Diaye, Colback, Johnson, Sessegnon, Fletcher
