Jose Mourinho: "Impossible" to stop Mesut Ozil

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho believes that his past experiences working alongside Mesut Ozil will count for little ahead of Monday's Premier League clash with Arsenal.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has said that it is "impossible" for his team to fully combat the threat of Mesut Ozil ahead of Monday's visit to Arsenal.

The 25-year-old played under Mourinho for three years at Real Madrid prior to joining the Gunners for £42m in September.

Although the Portuguese says that he has an idea on how to minimise Ozil's talent tomorrow evening, the 50-year-old is adamant that the Germany international will ultimately find a way of inflicting damage to his team.

He told Chelsea's official website: "I know his strong points. Not the weaknesses. I think I know how to try to stop him to be in the game (for) 90 minutes, with 90 minutes of direct influence.

"But it's impossible to stop him for 90 minutes, because these kind of players they will have always a moment or a couple of moments where you cannot stop them and they end up showing why they are so good.

"To stop him completely, I don't believe we can."

Monday's clash at the Emirates Stadium is scheduled to kick off at 8pm.
