Heurelho Gomes attacks "small" Arsenal

Watford keeper Heurelho Gomes calls Arsenal a "small team" after his side ousts them from the FA Cup.

Heurelho Gomes has branded Arsenal "a small team" after his Watford side ousted them from the FA Cup on Sunday.

The Gunners' hopes of an unprecedented third successive cup win were extinguished by the Hornets to pile the pressure on Arsene Wenger, whose side have also fallen to eight points off the pace in the Premier League.

"It is the best time to play Arsenal and we came to the match very confident," Gomes, who watched the game from the bench, told ESPN Brazil.

"When you see Arsenal playing against big teams, they look like a small team. They don't look like winning a title soon.

"We knew once we had the ball we'd be able to pass it around since Arsenal gives you too much space. They are not strong defensively."

Next up for Arsenal is a trip to Barcelona, where they must overcome a seemingly insurmountable two-goal deficit from the first leg of their Champions League tie to progress to the last eight.
