Peter Crouch: 'It was an incredible first half'

Peter Crouch hails "an incredible first half" by Stoke City as they beat Arsenal 3-2 at the Britannia Stadium.

Peter Crouch has hailed Stoke City's "incredible" first-half performance in their 3-2 victory over Arsenal this afternoon.

Crouch handed the Potters the lead after just 20 seconds and the home side raced into a three-goal lead at the break thanks to Bojan and Jonathan Walters strikes.

Despite two second-half goals from the Gunners, they were unable to overturn a three-goal deficit and Stoke held on to secure all three points at the Britannia Stadium.

"That was a great start, an incredible first half," Crouch told Sky Sports News after the game. "In the end it was a little bit backs-to-the-wall but we got the result.

"I've not been playing for the past few games so it was important to get off to a good start and 20 seconds in it was a dream start."

The win has lifted Stoke up to 12th in the Premier League table.
