Santi Cazorla: 'Alexis Sanchez so important for Arsenal'

Arsenal's Santi Cazorla says that in-form teammate Alexis Sanchez is instrumental to the Gunners' aspirations now and in the future.

Santi Cazorla has paid tribute to Arsenal teammate Alexis Sanchez after continuing his fine form by scoring in last night's 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund.

The Chilean added to Yaya Sanogo's second-minute opener to help the Gunners down the Germans and qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League.

It marked Sanchez's 13th goal in all competitions this season, and Cazorla says that the 25-year-old is vital to Arsenal's aspirations.

"Alexis is very important for us," the Spaniard told UEFA.com.

"He is in a good moment for the team and I hope he continues to play the same. He is a very important player for Arsenal."

Arsene Wenger's side still sit two points behind Dortmund in Group D with one game left, and Cazorla urges Arsenal to beat Galatasaray on matchday six to keep alive their hopes of winning the pool.

"When you finish first, you can play against another team – not Barça, not Madrid, not PSG," he added.

"It is difficult because we need Dortmund to lose or draw at home and for us to win at Galatasaray, but we want to win that last game."

The North Londoners resume domestic duties by facing West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
