Friday's Arsenal transfer talk news roundup: Martin Odegaard, Sokratis, Danny Ings

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Arsenal on Friday, January 22.

The January transfer window is now open, with Arsenal continuing to be linked with a host of big names.

The Gunners have endured a torrid first half of the season and have been tipped to bolster their ranks this month - in addition to offloading out-of-favour players - in a bid to turn their campaign around.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings at the Emirates Stadium.

Friday morning's Arsenal transfer talk news roundup:

Real Madrid 'will not consider permanent Martin Odegaard sale'

Real Madrid are reportedly not prepared to sanction a permanent exit for midfielder Martin Odegaard.

The highly-rated Norwegian has struggled to get a look-in under Zinedine Zidane this term and is understood to have asked for a loan move away from the club in January.

Arsenal have supposedly made an approach to sign Odegaard on a short-term deal, while a return to his former club Real Sociedad has also been mooted.

However, Marca reports that while a loan move in January is a possibility, Los Blancos will not consider selling him permanently.

The report claims that Real believe Odegaard can still come good at the Bernabeu despite his underwhelming start, although he has only made nine appearances across all competitions in the 2020-21 campaign.

The attacking midfielder was left out of Zidane's squad for Wednesday's Copa del Rey game at third-tier Alcoyano, who knocked Real Madrid out of the competition with a 2-1 win in extra time.
