Arsenal's Jordan Nobbs misses out on a place in England Women's provisional squad for Euro 2022 due to a knee injury.

Arsenal Women's midfielder Jordan Nobbs has not made the cut for England Women's provisional 28-player squad for the upcoming European Championships.

The 29-year-old was ruled out for the rest of the season due to a knee injury a couple of weeks ago and was sweating over her chances of making the squad for Euro 2022.

However. Nobbs is now confirmed to be missing out on the tournament after failing to make Sarina Wiegman's provisional squad, in which Steph Houghton, Fran Kirby and Chloe Kelly have all returned.

"The EUROs are getting closer, and this is a big step towards the tournament. We have a settled squad and I know we have players in our team that will give everything to make it a summer to remember," Wiegman told englandfootball.com.

"It's important the players have the chance to get some rest now after a very busy season before we get back to our work. We then have more than a month to prepare and it's important we use this time to build an even closer connection on and off the pitch.

"We also look forward to welcoming those who have been working individually and with their clubs on their fitness in the past few weeks. We're hoping to have them back on the pitch when the series of pre-camps start, so we can see where they're at."

England are due to confirm the final squad for the Euros next month, and they will take on Austria, Northern Ireland and Norway in Group A.
