Burton Albion see off Altrincham in FA Cup

Burton Albion have avoided an upset in their FA Cup first-round replay with Altrincham thanks to a 2-0 win at Moss Lane.

The visitors almost took the lead midway through the first half, but Calvin Zola's header came back off the crossbar.

They finally made the breakthrough on 65 minutes when Chris Palmer curled in his free kick from 30 yards.

Burton's progression into the second round was sealed 10 minutes later as Zola converted from close range.
