Ajaccio edge past Reims

Ajaccio end a run of six Ligue 1 games without a win by beating Reims 2-1 this evening.

Ajaccio have ended a run of six Ligue 1 games without a win by beating Reims 2-1 this evening.

The hosts started brightly and took the lead in the third minute when Junior Tallo smashed a strike past Kossi Agassa.

They scored a second three minutes later when Grenddy Perozo slotted in from close range following Ricardo Faty's corner.

Reims pulled a goal back five minutes before half time as Prince Oniangue finished after Gaetan Courtet's shot had been blocked.

Ajaccio were given the chance to score a third goal in the 70th minute when Antoine Conte handled inside the box.

Tallo stepped up to take the resulting penalty kick, but he saw his effort kept out by Agassa.

Reims were unable to find a way back into the game, as Ajaccio held on to win only their fourth league match of the season.
