Oleksandr Yakovenko scores as ADO Den Haag surprise FC Twente

ADO Den Haag recorded a surprise victory in the Eredivisie this evening by edging out FC Twente 2-0 at Kyocera Stadion.

The home side took the lead inside the opening quarter of an hour when new loan signing Oleksandr Yakovenko slotted home on his debut after intercepting the ball.

Luc Castaignos had the ball in the net as Twente pushed for a quick response, but the striker was flagged offside.

The visitors continued to look the more threatening after half time, but they couldn't beat Martin Hansen and ended up conceding a second.

Darryl Lachman brought down Roland Alberg and the latter made no mistake from 12 yards to seal the win.

The defeat is Twente's fifth in the Eredivisie this season, which is as many as they suffered in the entirety of 2013-14.
